Join us to review the normal physiologic changes related to pregnancy and how these changes may increase the risk for a cardiac event. Discuss the most probable causes for maternal arrest, assessment strategies to identify critical clinical situations, and modifications of resuscitation required by pregnant and postpartum women. Experience hands-on simulation to practice skills, teamwork and critical thinking with maternal resuscitation scenarios.
Karen Tollick, RN, MSN
Karen is the Director of Clinical Development, an educator, and ACLS Instructor at Southern NH Medical Center. Karen has over 40 years of nursing experience with clinical expertise in the ED, ICU, and PACU. She also has experience as nursing faculty in both OB and Pediatrics. Karen has coordinated and facilitated simulation training at SNHMC since 2007.
Christine Grunewald, RNC-OB, MSN
Christine is the Unit-based Educator for the Mom’s Place at Catholic Medical Center. Chris has practiced nursing for 36 years with clinical expertise in Maternal Child Health. She is also adjunct faculty for OB clinical and simulation lab learning for Rivier College.
